Lotus is an experiment, a collection of work exploring themes of cognition, overstimulation and identity. Thought is often imagined; as a winding trail leading the thinker, or as construction made of lines and fuzzy forms, or as something entirely non-visual, words and meaning ephemeral and unseeable. Lotus is an attempt to visualize trains of thought, presenting the strange, unintelligible and unexpected forms they take.
Overall, I’m facinated by how we interact with and consider thoughts in a time when so much of life happens separate from the body. We spend our time considering screens and images, content fed directly to the viewer. As such, the mind becomes an arena thoughts interacting, battling and moving without anything to distract while themselves being the distraction.
